When a plan expires

What happens if a workspace is not renewed — the seven-day grace period, and the workspace locking until you renew.

Because Kokar never charges you automatically, a period can end without being renewed. Nothing is ever deleted when it does — but after a week of grace the workspace locks until someone pays.

What happens

  1. The period ends. For the next seven days the workspace keeps full access, so a late renewal never interrupts anyone's work. (Your plan's monthly AI allowance is the one exception — see below.)
  2. Seven days later, the workspace locks. The owner is taken to the billing page and can use nothing else until they renew. Everyone else sees a screen saying the workspace is waiting for the owner to choose a plan. Nothing can be read or changed until then.
  3. Renewing unlocks it immediately. Nothing to restore, nothing lost.

Renewing inside the seven days starts the new period from your old end date, so your anniversary never drifts.

Renewing on a different plan

You do not have to come back on the plan you had. Renewing on any paid plan unlocks the workspace — the same one, a higher one, or a cheaper one. If you come back on a cheaper plan, its limits apply from then on; anything you had created above them stays and stays readable. See Change your plan.

Your plan does not change on its own

There is no free plan for Kokar to quietly drop you onto, and no automatic downgrade. A lapsed workspace stays on the plan you chose, locked, until the owner renews.

Not the same as an unpaid seat invoice

On a yearly plan, people added mid-term are invoiced separately. Leaving that invoice unpaid for seven days makes the workspace view-only — everyone can still read everything — rather than locked, until it is settled. See How billing works.

AI is part of the plan

AI is included in your workspace plan rather than bought separately, so it follows the plan — and it is the one thing the seven days do not cover. Your plan's monthly AI allowance stops the moment the period ends, not seven days later. Everything else has the full grace period.

Credits you bought are yours and behave differently: they stay in the workspace wallet, they do not expire, and they keep working through the grace period. Once the workspace locks nothing can be used in it at all, AI included — the credits simply wait for you, and renewing makes them usable again.

Anything AI already produced is normal content and stays forever: documents, images, conversation history.

Frequently asked questions

Is anything deleted if I do not renew?

No. Nothing is ever deleted, archived or hidden because of non-payment. The workspace is locked until it is renewed, and everything is exactly where you left it when you do.

How long do we get before the workspace locks?

Seven days after the period ends. Those seven days are full access, with one exception — your plan's monthly AI allowance stops the moment the period ends, with no grace. Credits you bought keep working through the seven days.

What do people see while the workspace is locked?

The owner is taken to the billing page and can use nothing else until they renew. Everyone else sees a screen saying the workspace is waiting for the owner to choose a plan.

How do I unlock it?

Renew. You can renew on the plan you had, a higher one, or a cheaper paid plan — any of them unlocks the workspace straight away.

Does Kokar change our plan on its own?

No. There is no free plan to fall back to and no automatic downgrade. The workspace stays on its plan, locked, until the owner renews.
