A whiteboard is an endless canvas. You draw on it, drop sticky notes on it, sketch a flow, map out a client's site, or throw ideas at it in a workshop — and everyone you've invited can be on it with you at the same time, drawing alongside you.
It's the place where thinking happens before it turns into tasks. So when an idea on the board is ready to become work, you turn it into a task without leaving the canvas.

What you can put on a board

How a board usually goes
- Create a board from the Whiteboards page, or from inside a space, folder or project so it sits with the work it belongs to.
- Start from a template if you want a head start, or from a blank canvas if you don't.
- Invite people — or just let everyone in the workspace open it, which is the default.
- Work on it together. Cursors, laser pointer and a "follow me" mode make a remote workshop feel like standing at the same board.
- Turn ideas into tasks from the canvas, and they land in the project you choose.
- Share it out as a link or a QR code, or export it as an image.
Where a board lives
A whiteboard can be filed anywhere that suits it:
- In the workspace, at the top level — good for anything cross-team.
- In a space, folder or project, next to the work it belongs to.
You can move a board later from its ⋯ menu, and it keeps its link, its contents and everyone's access.

By default a board is open to everyone in the workspace, and people reach it through the space or project it's filed in. You can make any board private and invite only the people who need it — see Sharing a whiteboard.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to save my work?
No. Everything you draw saves by itself, as you draw it. Close the tab mid-sentence and it's still there when you come back.
Can several people draw at the same time?
Yes. You'll see everyone's cursor moving live, with their name attached, and their changes appear as they make them. Nobody has to wait their turn or take over.
Can I show a board to a client who doesn't use Kokar?
Yes. Turn on a public link and send it — they open the board in a browser with no account and no sign-in. On paid plans you can let them draw on it too.
What happens when a board gets full?
A board holds up to 5,000 items. If you reach that, group things into frames, delete what you've finished with, or start a second board. Nothing is lost — the board just stops growing.
